1) The papers were not sealed and were distributed 5-7 minute before the test started. In some centres they were distributed 10-15 min earlier because invigilator were unaware of the correct instructions to be followed i.e. Question papers were distributed before OMR sheets. As a result many students got a chance to glance the through questions & even solve them before the test started. This clearly is not fair to students who are honest and upright. Though the supervisor tried his best to deter people from opening the paper, it wasnt really practical as papers were loose and not sealed.
A time difference of even 5 mins can be a deciding factor and work in favour of person indulging in malpractice over a genuine student, which is a cause of concern for the entire student community who appeared for IIFT exam.
2) At some centres there was precious time lost by the students owing to mismatching between Question paper and OMR sheets distributed by the invigilators. In many centres the mismatching went unnoticed.
3) There were numerous printing errors on the paper. One of the questions in Section 1(Quants), where we had to find the numbers formed with digits 1,2,3,4,5,8(where repetitions are allowed) , the right answer was 18.This wasnt provided in any of the options. Many like me who had solved the question correctly couldnt mark the answer, thanks to the absence of the right option. And in some question papers, the question asked was to find the numbers formed with digits 1,2,3,4,5..(number 8 missing). Then there was another question in Section 2(Di and Logic) where Akshay was misspelled as Akshaya..
Its regrettable that these instances occurred in the conduct of All India Entrance test of IIFT, which is amongst the most reputed colleges of India.
I,therefore request you to re-conduct the exam or take appropriate measures so that candidates can get equal oppurtunity and deserving students make the cut to IIFT GD/PI interview calls.
