Reconsider Methodist Judicial Council Decision

We are members and friends of the Wesley Class of Pulaski Heights Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. We want the Judicial Council of the Methodist Church to know that we are deeply troubled by the recent judgment to uphold the decision by a Methodist pastor to deny church membership to a gay person.
We believe that Jesus would be outraged by this decision. It is not up to us, a pastor, or the Council to determine who is worthy to be a member of the church. Our congregation promotes the idea of Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors. We believe that God created humanity with many different stripes. We come in different colors, with different gifts, and with different sexual orientations.
When our church behaves in a superior, exclusionary manner, it makes me feel sad for the Methodist church. We ask that the Judicial Council reconsider their Decision 1032.
