Removal of commercial vehicle penalty for daily use trucks

California considers any truck a "Commercial Vehicle" according to Division 3, Chapter 6, Article 3 Section 9400 which states "Weight fees for pickup trucks are calculated under this section. Whenever a camper is temporarily attached to a motor vehicle designed to transport property, the motor vehicle shall be subject to the fees imposed by this section. The camper shall be deemed to be a load, and fees imposed by this section upon the motor vehicle shall be based upon the unladen weight of the motor vehicle, exclusive of the camper."
This is an unjustified fee for Californians. Most Californians do not use their truck to transport people, or to carry cargo for business purposes. Most Californians, myself included use their trucks for daily commute. Why should someone who uses their vehicle to commute to work be subject to the same fees as those who do use their trucks for commercial use? This is unjustified, and these fees should be removed. This petition is to have the commercial vehicle fee removed from every truck on the road not used for commercial use.

I commute 2 miles to work and never used my truck to toe a trailer but still have to pay ridiculous weight fees (BS!!)

The fee should only be applied to trucks actually used for business. God forbid I have one in case I ever need to haul something.
