The residents of Cape Girardeau, MO have come together on this petition and in our community to see that Rush Limbaugh be removed from the Cape Girardeau flood wall mural of famous Missouri faces.
Rush Limbaugh is not to be commended for his obscene radio show, and we, as citizens, do not want our community to acknowledge this foul man.
He preaches hate and ignorance, and has no rightful place alongside truly historical figures from our history.
We believe that someone like Chuck Berry, the original King of rock and roll, who hails from Missouri and still plays here monthly, is a much more deserving and worthy addition to our river wall.
Chuck Berry has unfluenced millions of artists and had a more profound impact on our country's musical landscape than just about any artist alive or dead.
There would be no Elvis, no Rolling Stones, no Led Zeppelin, if not for Chuck Berry.
The fact that Mr. Berry is NOT on this historical wall, and someone like Rush Limbaugh IS, doesn't make Cape Girardeau look that intelligent to the rest of the country.
Do the right thing, TAKE RUSH OFF!
