We the undersigned members of the Jain Society of Toronto request that Special General Body Meeting be called in accordance with our constitution to resolve the issue of appointing JAINA representative from our society. We do not understand the reasons why Executive committee has not appointed our past President Lataben as our representative who has worked for so many years for both our Society and JAINA.
Lataben has worked as treasurer for JAINA, secretary of JAINA, Editor-in-chief of Jain Digest publication of JAINA and now First/Senior Vice President.
As per JAINA tradition and hiarchy First/Vice President becomes the President of JAINA.
We should not miss this opportunity to have member from our Society become president of JAINA a great honour for Jain Society of Toronto.
Our resolution to appoint Lataben as representative will result in First Canadian Jain and first female President of JAINA a history making event. We as Canadian Jain should pass resolution to appoint Lataben as our JAINA respresentative.
