We, Canadian residents, disagree with the Agriculture Canada Ministerial order, dated June 2, 2004 signed by Mr. Michael Presley, Director General, Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The order directs that due to a violation of Section 9.6(A) (iii) of the CKC by-laws, Mr. Alan Bennett ceased to be qualified to hold office and that the office held by him, (Zone 6) had therefore been declared Vacant.
By signing this petition we are stating that the bylaw was meant to deal with directors who become Bankrupt while serving as a director. We, the CKC members, did not intend this to be retroactive.
Taken broadly, as it appears Agricultural Canada is doing, is not what we, as the members want.
We would like Mr. Michael Presley to rescind the Ministerial Order and allow Mr. Bennett to serve out his term with the elected directors who have NOT resigned.

If in fact the interpretation of the by-laws stands, then the entire directorship, as well as the legal branch of the CKC should be forced to resign for carrying on business with Mr. Bennett in direct contravention of it's own bylaws. As they continue to
