Reservation for economically backward upper caste in higher education

We, the undersigned, request you to provide reservation for the economically backward students of upper caste society of India in the higher education system on lines similar to the reservations provided to SC/ST/OBC sections of the society.
This will provide equal opportunities and a level playing ground for the economically weaker sections of the upper caste to come up the socio-economic ladder.
We request the honorable government to provide the proposed reservation based on the percentage of upper caste in the Indian society. We also request the honorable government to apply the same yard sticks in terms of merit to this proposed reservation as is currently applicable to SC/ST/OBC reservations.

Currently, there are many cases where people of the upper caste are obtaining fake caste certificates which certify them to as SC/ST/OBC, just to reap the benefits of reservations applicable to SC/ST/OBC. Usually such illegal means are adopted by those belonging to economically weaker sections of the upper caste. The proposed reservation will address this issue there by ensuring that true SC/ST/OBC gets their quota and also ensure that there is no social injustice done to economically weaker sections of the upper caste.

The proposed reservation will also eliminate the negative feeling in the minds of upper caste that their present generation is being unnecessarily victimized for the atrocities committed by their ancestors. The proposed reservation will thus ensure that the cycle of animosity does not repeat where the concerned sections of the society have now reversed their roles.

The proposed reservation will also eliminate the feeling that the political parties are playing vote bank politics. The implementation of the proposed reservation ensures that the political parties are equally concerned about all sections of the society.

The proposed reservation will also put an end to the anti-quota protests since a greater percentage of the anti-quota Protestants are those belonging to the economically weaker sections of the upper caste society.

The proposed reservation will also put an end to the feeling in the upper caste that the reservations are eating away into their share of available seats.

We also sincerely request the government to later scrap this reservation along with all other caste based reservations when the honorable parliament decides to do so in the future, once it is established that social justice has been established in the Indian Society.
