We, the Residents and visitors of/to the Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and lower Hunter Valley, would like to see the Lake Macquarie Council and New South Wales Govenment raise the funds and acquire the land that is currently Belmont Airport and keep this land as an operating Airport.
We would like a submission, either by local business/s or goverment, put to the current owner of the land and the company Aeropelican, International Air Parts (IAP) to obtain the rights to the company (Aeropelican) and the current fleet of two (2) twin engine otters and keep this valuable service available to all residents and visitors to the area.
If the sale of this land goes ahead and coverted to housing a direct Sydney - Lake Macquarie/Newcastle flight service that has been important to thousands of Business people and holiday makers for nearly 50 years will be gone forever.

Send a message loud and clear that we need to save the airport and aeropelican. How many people have an airport close to home and it only takes half an hour to sydney and we need an air port in the Lake Macquarie Area and this airport is ideal.

The Belmont Airport is an important transport infrastructure facility which cannot be replaced once sold off for housing. Williamtown is an out-of-the-way nuisance.
