I support The Observer's bid to get Hastings Pier open.
By adding my name I am urging Hastings Borough Council to commit to moving things forward and return the pier to the people of Hastings by carrying out a compulsory purchase order from owners Ravenclaw.
They should then hand the ownership over to the Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust.
I also want the council to begin working more closely with the trust to help it get its plans up and running.
Leaving the pier empty and derelict is no longer acceptable.

I used to play on the pier as a child when visiting my grandparents. I think it is shameful that it has been allowed to fall into disrepair. It could be such an asset to Hastings.

we moved here 8 years ago and watched the pier re-open then, then watched it close!! It is part of this town and we all love it and so do the tourists!
