Save Our Bills

In April 2006, Buffalo Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. presented a scenario that many of us have feared--a future without the Buffalo Bills in our Western New York community. According to Mr. Wilson, the current collective bargaining agreement is not sufficient enough to allow small- to mid-market teams like the Bills to survive in Western New York, meaning the team will have to relocate elsewhere. If this happens, our region will take a major hit financially, as the Bills are one of the largest sources of income for our region. Thousands of jobs will also be lost, and the team that many have grown up with will be gone.
After 46 years, Bills fans region-wide and nation-wide can't imagine this area without its football team. Neither can we. We represent a group of people passionate about their team and willing to see it remain here in the Western New York area, where it belongs. However, under its current form, the CBA does not allow for teams like the Bills to survive. We ask, therefore, that you create an equal playing field for all teams to benefit from, not just the larger teams. Rework the CBA to take the strain off of teams like the Bills and other mid-market franchises to be commercially viable for years to come.
Please help keep the Buffalo Bills in our community. This is our team...and we are willing to help keep it that way for years to come. As one reporter put it, "Tak[ing] the Bills out of Buffalo...(would leave) a city, and area, with its heart torn out."
