Please take a minute to sign this petition against the hunting of dolphins. This years Oscar winning movie in the category Documentary was The Cove a film disclosing the worlds most massive slaughter of dolphins taking place in Taiji, Japan each year from September to March. If you have not seen the film or are afraid to do so because of the violent content, there is still a lot you can do. Together we can stop this, so make sure you tell your friends about this and ask them to make a stand against the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of dolphins each year. This is a also a step towards forbidding whale fishing and limiting overfishing as well as the tremendous negative impact it has on our planet.

The illegal sale of dolphin meat in Japan disguised as whale meat also hides the risk of mercury poisoning which severely impairs the nervous system over time. Furthermore, Japanese people are unaware that they are purchasing hazardous meat and they are not aware of the slaughters taking place in Taiji. Dolphins are among the most intelligent creatures on our planet and they are not suitable food for humans. If you would like to become more involved, please visit http://www.takepart.com/thecove/ for more information on how to support this cause and help make our would a better place.

The signatures from this petition will be sent to the Japanese embassy in Bulgaria in a letter asking the Japanese ambassador to take all political measures possible in order to put an end to the dolphin hunt. We will make a thousand origami dolphins signifying the hope for the resolution of this problem and showing our great respect for Japanese culture which will be sent to the embassy together with a letter and all your signatures. Together we have to show the policy makers of Japan that the world cares about what is taking place in the country and that their actions hurt our entire planet.

Thank you for becoming part of this! Please let more people know that they too can help stop the slaughter of dolphins. Help us preserve our home one step at a time!
