"Hello all,
as some of you may have heard, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation has proposed building a 4-lane highway that would go right through the Sidrabene Site where we host the Bronte Creek Project. Along with the effect on the sensitive Niagara Escarpment area, this would obviously have a dramatic impact on the ability to operate an outdoor school at Sidrabene in the future.
You are all invited this Saturday @ 11am in the main hall at Camp Sidrabene for an information meeting on this proposed highway through North Burlington. Jane Morris from the Lowville Area Residents Association will be co-ordinating a power point presentation, hopefully along with one of our local City Councillors. Come on out and get informed.
The City of Burlington is opposed to the highway plan. If you would like more information, you can be added to Access Halton's email list at accesshalton@halton.ca. Indicate you would like to receive regular updates on the "N-GTA Corridor Highway". You can also dial 311 to speak with a rep from Access Halton directly.
You can also write your MPP to express your concerns. (give this address to anyone that wants to write to the mpp.)
