To Whom It may concern: Recently, during a call to Wizards of the Coast Product Support, a member of your support staff divulged that production on the Magic: the Gathering Interactive Encyclopedia had been halted, with no plans to renew production. When asked if support for the product would continue, the representative responded that you "still kind of support it. You will be able to download the Apocalypse Patch, but we are not sure about further releases." We were all given the choice of either playing Magic: the Gathering via the Magic: the Gathering Interactive Encyclopedia or through a free product such as Apprentice, and chose the MTGIE. We have, since the release of the MTGIE, suffered through a very laggy chat server, undependable connections, an unsupported technical staff, and lack of general improvements that we had every right to expect for the $40+ that we paid for the program. Through all of these, we supported the MTGIE and Wizards, built a relatively large, close-knit community, and found our own workarounds for the inherent glitches that have plagued the MTGIE since day one. We sincerely hope that, if in fact support is planned to be discontinued, you will reconsider. Also, since the stoppage of production of the MTGIE, we have likewise seen a decrease, and nearly a halt, in the plentiful growth that our community was experiencing. This is a shame since the MTGIE is becoming a workable alternative to Apprentice. We were willing to pay the price, do not make this decision come back to haunt us. We have no desire to use the, quite frankly, inferior programs such as Apprentice, nor do we wish to deal with the rather unfriendly environment perpetuated in the Apprentice Community. Again, please reconsider your decision.
