We, the undersigned, fully support the Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Fire Department. The Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Firefighters serve vital duties in protecting our lives and property.
The Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Fire Department has been the center of our community for 181 years. Due to continued Village of Owego, New York Board actions to terminate Members of the Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Fire Department, the department and our community are in jeopardy.
We respectfully request that the Village of Owego, New York Board respond to our urgent call to save the Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Fire Department by taking the following actions:
Reinstate all Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Firefighters who were terminated and STOP future terminations of these members;
Remove the Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Fire Department membership limitations cited Village of Owego, New York Charter;
Pass the Blue version Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Fire Department Bylaws the majority of the Village of Owego, New York Volunteer Fire Department requested and want.
Such actions will ensure we continue to have the best volunteer fire department we demand and deserve.

I feel the fire department is doing very well with its volunteers. The taxpayers cannot afford higher taxes to have a paid staff on duty 24/7.
