The borough of Phoenixville, PA is considering a proposal to replace the landmark Vale Rio Diner and historic Fountain Inn in the heart of the borough, with a Walgreens and Starbucks. The town has absolutely no need for yet another drug store, when two chain stores are already mere minutes away and the locally-owned Gateway Pharmacy is also right up the road. Suburban sprawl has become a major issue in this country over the past decade. There are people and organizations dedicating to fighting against it and helping to keep our towns from becoming interchangeable strip malls. Please sign this petition, show your support of the Vale Rio and vow to boycott the Walgreens if it is actually built.

17. Kelly Blough | The historic landmarks such as the Val Rio, the Fountain Inn, and the Colonial Theatre are probably the main reason Phoenixville was the only place I ever wanted to call my home. That along with the local buisnesses and the general sense of communtiy. P
