The Mayor of San Antonio has proposed a pay raise for the city manager (Sheryl Sculley) that equates to as much as 20,000.00 a year for the next three years, bringing her salary from 295,000.00 to 355,000.00.
The public reaction online to this news has been decidedly against giving Sheryl Sculley this raise, including a web poll on KSAT.com that shows 88\% of the respondents voting against this new contract.
What we would ask of the city council is that they either vote against this new contract, or that they ask that this issue be decided at a later time.
This issue was not listed on Friday, when the council's tentative agenda for the following week's meeting was posted, and this issue will be voted on this Thursday, which does not allow your constituents a reasonable amount of time to voice their opinions on the subject, which many of us just found out about on Tuesday.
