I AM A TRUE SOCOMer



Ive experienced a lot during my SOCOM career, yes it is a career. Because SOCOM captured the best gaming community that I have ever been a part of. Ive played Call of Duty 4, Rainbow Six, G.R.A.W. and Resistance Fall of Man and nothing comes close to SOCOM. For me SOCOM has an emotional attachment with its players. Im in my last year of my bachelors degree in Game Design and the most important formula to have in a game is an emotional attachment with the consumers and thats what SOCOM had. Playing these other games was just to play and kill time, with SOCOM it was different. It was more like looking forward to playing with your buddies in random rooms or if you want a real adrenaline rush then you played in clan wars (tournaments, leagues and ladders). This is an amateur writing, but I hope that Hardcore SOCOM Players understand it and can compare with it. I also hope that Slant Six sees the passion within the SOCOM Community like no other. I will start with my own experiences to explain the passion with SOCOM and I truly believe that other hardcore SOCOM addicts will agree with me.



Ive been the one to type out: G^, g^, GTF^ in the lobby after a game.

Ive been the one to even carry one of those color names #C~ haahahahahah

Ive been the one to type out (_)llllllllD~, 0_o, >_> in the lobby

Ive been the one to type out other clan tags to see how they look on my name.

Ive been the one to sit in the lobby for hours after a war and talk to my friends.

I am the guy that broke 5 headsets made by Logitech because they suck.

I am the guy that loves the SOCOM 1 Original headset that came with the game.

I am the one that had my clan vote off annoying kids.

I am the one to have my clan green up at the same time to force the start.

I am the one to create rooms with names such as: BIG BOOBIES, Late Night Ruins etc

I am the one to count the countdown in text or over a headset.

I am the one that misses servers such as HANGUK from SOCOM 1.

Im the guy that scheduled wars on GameBattles.com after 12PM.

Ive sacrificed my school/job to pull a all nighter with my friends.

I was the one using a Wall Hump glitch on Crossroads to get to my destination faster.

Im also the guy that had a blast Back blasting my friends and enemies with my AT-4 or RPG.

Im the guy that puts PMN Mines at the edges of doors.

Im the son of a bitch that would scream out QUICK PLANT do NOT blow the bridge.

I was the one that used Prone & Jump glitch either for cover or for skill.

I was the one that camped like crazy in a war if its 1 vs. 3 against a good clan with 30 seconds left in the round, just sitting there hiding like a bitch and praying they dont find me.

I was the one that would get a little bit nervous approaching the Suicide Tunnel in Abandoned.

I am the one that would pick the TERRORIST in the Red Jacked in Blizzard.

I am the guy that would pick Yellow Suit guy in Frostfire.

I am the one that believes M-203s, AT-4 HEATs, RPGs and IWs are scrub weapons.

I was also a sucker that went out and bought a $99.99 PS2 HDD just for Last Bastion, After Hours and Liberation map pack.

I was the one that loved to hate Zipper Int. and Jim Bosler and his passion for cars.

I was the one that bought into Zipper Int. promises even after numerous let downs.

I was the one who would go to school and just think about SOCOM and what Im going to do next.

Im still the one that dreams of SOCOM II on PS3, Just like it was with balanced weapons and no cheaters.

Im the one rushing to pick up the Satchel in The Ruins, which is practically a suicide mission.

Im the one that participated in the grenade fest on Frostfire.

Im the TERRORIST that rushed down into the tunnel of Frostfire and died by a grenade that landed on top of the platform.

Im the one to scream out the bitch is in the Blue Tunnels or Yellow Tunnels.

Im the one that hated SocomBattles/GameBattles referees, because they were 13 year old kids.

Im the one to send a TAUNT that said: Right behind you and actually be there.

Im the guy that dances on your corps and t-bags you.

Im the guy that sniped 3 SEALS with one shot.

Im the TERRORIST on Sandstorm that killed you on the window while you were planting a bomb.

I am the SEAL/TERRORIST that rushes to snipe soon as the round starts on Nightstalker, you know where. From TERRORIST side it would be the right side from SEALS it would be the left.

I am the one to say, Were TERRORIST, we can reach the Satchel before SEALS can on Requiem.

Im the son of a bitch that would camp in the Hostage room on Desert Glory.

I am the one to shoot out the boards from the balcony in Desert Glory.

Im the guy that would take a Shotty in Frostfire (TERRORIST) and rush the tunnels holding down the R1.

Im the SR-25-SD in Blood Lake taking MOFOs down one by one.

Im the one to experience both ways, running over a mine and not dying or somebody else running into my mine and not dying.

Im the one that has experienced a war that lasted 3-4 hours with 25 draws on Death Trap as a SEAL.

Im the one that would deploy a Claymore and it just knocked the enemy down.

Im the one that bitches after getting owned and claiming I shot the fuck out of him when I didnt even aim at him.

I never really cared about RANK, I just wanted my kill to death ration tracked.

Im the bitch that would shoot a hostage in the face because she/he would get stuck on a wall/hill/stairs/ or just into each other.

Im also the SEAL that has M87 Sniper rifle on the 3rd Floor of the Desert Glory window trying to snipe the bitch camping in the Hostage room.

Im the guy that shoots as Hostages legs/feet to take their health down so they can die easier.

Im the TERRORIST on Fish Hook that takes the Hostages and rushes with them in the middle of the map, praying they would die from a grenade.

I am the SEAL that sniped TERRORIST by the church on Foxhunt.

I am the SEAL hiding a Hostage on Foxhunt with 1 min. 24. Sec. left on the clock.

I am the SEAL in Blizzard that made the jump of the mountain in the beginning of the round so I wouldnt die.

Im the guy that experienced Bitter Jungles lag in a 1vs1 match, thats why its called Bitter Lag.

Im the one that would shoot an AT-4 HEAT from Vigilances SEAL spawn point and get a lucky kill with it.

Im the one hiding in a bush in Shadow Falls surrounded by PMNs.

Im the SEAL in The Mixer taking control of the Hostages and rushing them into the right side building to camp.

Im the SEAL in Chain Reaction sniping a TERRORIST from my spawn point 2 seconds into the round.

Im also the SEAL that eats an RPG rocket from the TERRORIST in Chain Reaction, in the beginning of the round.

I am the one that called Enowapi, Analwapi.

Im the guy who witnessed Soft Spot Glitch, Outside the Map Glitch, Code 9, Majic etc

I am the guy that logged into the International Servers and kick the crap out of Asians and Europeans.

Im also the one that bought SOCOM 3 and was truly disappointed.



No matter how much we want SOCOM I/II it will never happen. Not even close. Those were the times and the best that we can do is cherish the memories. Be proud that you had a little bit of SOCRACK because there are people that never did.



These are just some of the things that I have typed up, experiences that I will always remember. I wish I could name them all but there is way to many of them.



Slant Six, Do NOT get rid of the ROUNDS. Because every SOCOMer knows what Round 11 was for them and what it meant. Not just in a public room but in a clan war. Round 11, is what made SOCOM be SOCOM. You guys are trying to bring SOCOM back but yet taking away the elements that made the game. You cannot do that.



This petition is to keep 11 Rounds in the game and no switching teams in the middle of the game. We never complained about rounds or switching teams so why take away the main ingredients of the game?
