Sports Salary Cap

This petition is to urge you to establish equal per-player salary caps in order to protect the sport and its fans. While not all sports currently have problems, there are those that do. It now can cost a family of four over $100.00 to go to some sporting events, and even more when adding in the cost of food and beverages.

It is our belief that player salaries are a large part of the reason that costs are so high to the consumer (fans). It is also our belief that while players deserve to be paid according to their abilities, the excessive salaries are deserving of no one. Additionally, players with the highest salaries are, generally, the ones with lucrative endorsement contracts. Also, it is our belief that if the costs to fans continue to rise, the sports themselves will begin to suffer.

We encourage you to implement a cap that will reward players for their abilities, yet one that will also allow the average American to attend these sporting events more than once a season.
