Start A City-Funded All-Ages Venue in South Bend, IN

My name is Jessica Patterson and I am planning to address the South Bend City (Common) Council in the next few months asking for a city funded all-ages venue. I feel that a city funded all-ages venue would provide a safe environment for people of all ages to enjoy the cultural and diverse arts in the South Bend area. I will go back to every meeting that I can until there action by the Council. It is in my opinion that an all-ages venue is long over due in our city, and more so, it is necessary. There is a need in this town to get more people in our community involved in cultural arts and there is no better way to open a venue to the public. In the past, there have been people that have taken it upon themselves to open up such venues. Unfortunately, they have all failed. It is time to have success in the venture. The City of South Bend should recognize its responsibility to the public, especially the youth, and provide a creative outlet for its citizens.

A city-funded venue would be paid for, mostly with taxpayers dollars, to my understanding. Of course, if this point is taken seriously, I will take it upon myself to raise money to help fund such a venture. This is why Im opening this petition to the public the taxpayers. If you feel that an all-ages venue is something that the City of South Bend should embrace, please sign this petition. My voice alone will not help persuade a council, but a community of opinions will help.
