We the undersigned wish for a testimonial match between Birmingham City Football Club and Columbus Crew, honoring Stern John, the greatest player ever to wear black and gold.
Not only was he an effective goalscorer for Columbus, but he conducted himself as a true gentleman both on and off the field. While his departure from Columbus was a significant dissapointment, we take pride in all that Stern has accomplished in England, culminating in helping Birmingham City reach the premiership for the first time in their history.
We want this testimonial match to take place at Columbus Crew Stadium, preferably during the last month of Birmingham City's close-season, as this is the time of year when our international friendlies have been the most competitive.
We want the proceeds of this testimonial match to go directly to Stern or to the charity of his choice.
We want Stern to play one half for each club, and we ask that John Wilmar Perez temporarily relinquish the #14 shirt.
