STOP Dense Housing Estates (SHAs) in Kumeu, Huapai, Waimauku Districts

Special Housing Areas (dense housing estates) do not belong in rural or semi-rural areas.  The HASHAAct 2013 is a dictatorship of one sided processes.  Only in favour of developers and Auckland Council to get thousands of houses built asap.  This attracts investors, overseas land banking and other Asian buyers.  The few "affordable" (smallest) units are quickly back on the market at unaffordable prices.  The rich get richer.  Consequences are ruined country areas, mass destruction of trees, ecology, wildlife; major increased traffic congestion, accidents and crime.  Good community residents of longstanding feel forced to move away to retain their lifestyle.  This enables housing developments to spread.  Causing more destruction, more cars, more congestion, more accidents, more crime.  This is already happening in these areas.  It has to be stopped.  An SHA is proposed on the land bordering my property and neighbours' properties. Plans are for 247 units in 15. 9 hectares!  We, the neighbours, were the very last to be notified by Council 2.5 years after they received the application and kept it all confidential. They even want to destroy some covenanted mature native bush to make way for a new internal road access. I am protecting my animal & bird sanctuary lifestyle property.  We all want to protect the trees, ponds, watercourses and covenanted bush that is there.  As well as our own Countryside Living.    Please support our fight to stop this destruction from happening.     Thank you.
