On Sunday, September 11th, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the horrendous attacks on America, the Young Democrats of UGA will be hosting a screening of the controversial and divisive film "Fahrenheit 9/11." While we support their right to show any film of their choosing, we believe they should refrain from presenting a film of that nature on such a hallowed date. As a country, we should put politics and partisanship aside and come together to honor and commemorate all the lives lost and those who gave selflessly to help save lives. It is not an event that should be used for political exploitation. For that reason, we are asking them to cancel the screening or postpone it to a later date.
