Recently a rumour has spread through diverse international online forums that the videographic retailer Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) has undertaken the decision to eliminate the subtitles in various languages, particularly german, italian and spanish, in the future european releases of their catalogue DVDs.
The signers of this petition wish to warn MGM that we consider this decision a heavy disrespect to all the original version cinema lovers, and an unacceptable drawback for all the hearing impaired people that wish to enjoy this films. We are ready to stop buying any of the MGM products if this decision is finally approved.
We ask for this decision to be reconsidered, as we think this is a great backward step in the consolidation of which nowadays is the best media for the distribution and home enjoyment of motion pictures.

Recientemente ha corrido el rumor por distintos foros internacionales de internet de que la productora videogrбfica Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) ha tomado la decisiуn de eliminar los subtitulos en distintos idiomas, en concreto alemбn, italiano y castellano, en sus futuros lanzamientos de ediciones europeas de fondo de catбlogo en DVD.
Los firmantes de esta peticiуn desean poner en conocimiento de MGM que consideran dicha decisiуn una falta de respeto a los amantes del cine en versiуn original subtitulada y un impedimento para que las personas con deficiencias auditivas pueden asimismo disfrutar del cine en casa. Estamos dispuestos a no comprar sus productos si esta decisiуn finalmente se lleva a cabo.
Solicitamos que reconsideren esta decisiуn que supone un gran paso atrбs en la consolidaciуn del actualmente mejor soporte para la distribuciуn y disfrute domйstico de peliculas.
