The individuals who have signed this petition recognize the need to acknowledge the history of "skinning" on the Windows platform. To both celebrate this unique history, and to help your users learn about it, we are requesting that your company approve the release of a freeware version of the "MacVision" program developed by Jeff Bargmann in 1999. It was this extremely innovative program that provided the basis for your company's exceptional "ObjectBar" utility.
As the program is nearly three years old, and was considered incomplete at the time of its final release, a public version of it would hardly threaten your potential to sell retail copies of ObjectBar. And as a freeware release, no support or documentation of the product would be expected of your company.
