Support Maddox - Uphold Your Freedom of Speech

This is a petition written to support Maddox* at maddox.xmission.com. Another petition you will find on this website claims that Maddox is a sick, sexist, prejudice, arrogant, hateful person and that his website is giving children the wrong ideas about life and the world in which we live in. If you couldnt tell, the woman who posted that petition is trying to get Maddoxs website shut down. I really have to wonder if that woman has ever heard of the First Amendment to the Constitution? Im sure all of you reading this already know that the First Amendment states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the FREEDOM OF SPEECH, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I think someone may want to inform the woman petitioning against Maddoxs website that she has every right to properly supervise her children, not let them go to certain websites, and restrict them from what she considers the wrong ideas. However, she has no right to take away someones freedoms. Whether or not you like Maddoxs website doesnt matter; what matters is that signing a petition against Maddox is the same thing as signing a petition against the freedom of speech.
