We as Middlesbrough Fans would love for Club to have an official anthem. We have deliberated long and hard over a song which we feel represents our love for the club and our wish to see us succeed. We have decided upon the traditional "We Shall Overcome". We would love for the club to help and support our goal to publicise the song, which would involve playing it before the match.
Singing it before a match means - we shall overcome that match
Singing it when we are a goal down - we shall overcome by winning the match
Singing it when we lost the match - we shall overcome by winning the next game
Singing it when we lose in a European game and out of the competition - we shall overcome by winning the next European game/we shall be in the competition the next season.
Singing it when we win (Premier League/Carling/FA/Uefa/Champions League) - there will be many other competitions to overcome.
We feel that this song represents the ambition of the club and the "never say die attitude" of our loyal fans.
So please in return to our many years of support through thick and thin, please help us by doing everything in your power to make this happen
