While it may not have been the most popular movie in the 1980s, like many films, even including Walt Disney's "Fantasia", time tends to create a greater demand for a film than was present in its initial release. There are plenty of people who do appreciate the movie and would purchase it on DVD.

Many people understand the genius of Chuck Barris and appreciate his work which changed television and enjoy the uniqueness of the comedy "The Gong Show Movie".
As a result of this movie not being released, it is resulting in highly illegal bootleg copies appearing on ebay, elsewhere on the Internet, and other distribution. Even low quality versions of this movie, recorded when it was aired on pay channels such as "On TV" in the 1980s, are selling for high prices around the Internet.
Although extras are always welcome on a DVD, and would CERTAINLY be welcome, this is a rare situation in that the mere release of this previously unreleased movie is enough to warrant its purchase.
We urge you to release this unique cult classic so it may now be enjoyed by the proper audience.
