The Great Ornithologist Mr. Maruti Chitampalli be conferred with the " Padma " Award and his name being given to “Isapur Bird Sanctuary” & “Navegaon Vyaghra Prakalp”.

The Great Ornithologist Mr. Maruti Chitampalli, the sage of modern era as far as Ornithology and Marathi literature is concerned. Born on 12Nov. 1932 , 36+ years dedicated service in forest dept., mastered the Sanskrit , German & Russian languages ; disciple of Late Dr. Salim Ali ; writer of more than 20+ highly acclaimed books published ( though majority of them in Marathi ) , 07+ more in pipe-line for publication , single handedly created "Pakshikosh"         ( Encyclopedia on Birds in Marathi, latest updated version due to be published in January 2014), more than 20+ awards from different Organizations and Maharashtra Govt. ; and the prestigious President of the 79th All India Marathi Sahitya Sammelan held at Solapur  is a loving & living example for all " Mother Nature " lovers . At the age of 81, he is still active & busy researching & completing his writing projects.
