The NBFC save our stripes petition

However, this news has been tainted by a shining example of how, once again, the club has ignored the views of the supporters of Nuneaton Borough FC. Last year the Nuneaton Borough fanzine To The Manor Reborn decided that the decision to change the club's home shirt from blue and white stripes to plain blue was wrong. The club was approached and we dedicated a fanzine to getting the stripes back and the club decided to abide by a poll conducting through the pages of the Heartland Evening News.
97 per cent of fans who voted wanted us to return to our striped shirts that have been traditional since at least the early 70s. Several of the other supporters groups at the Boro urged their members to support the vote for stripes and all working together, we managed to get our voice heard by the club and this season we are playing in striped shirts.
But not next season, if the recent kit launch is anything to go by. This is no longer a question of whether we prefer the Boro to wear stripes or plain blue, it is now an issue of the fans wishes being ignored. We were told, through programme notes, newspaper columns and postings on the official website, that the club valued our opinion. This shows they do not.
We urge every Boro fan to sign this petition, and once again ask our board of directors that we would really like to see the Boro playing in blue and white stripes, not just for next season, but every season here on.
We want as many supporters as possible to show the club that our view counts.
