I say we band together and work toward a better internet; an Internetopia. A fearful threat to this campaign has already formed in what is called We Are the Web (http://www.wearetheweb.org/). Unfortunately, the name of their movement all too accurately describes the truth of our circumstance. People like themthe Internet Celebritiesare allowed to run rampant upon the web and corrupt what was once a peaceful series of informational tubes.
I, for one, have had it. No longer shall we allow anyone to post content on the Internet that we hold sacred. I propose that a test is created that everyone who wishes to post content on the Internet must take. Depending on your ranking, you can do different things other than browse.
* Those who rank 1, or score above 0, can post on forums.
* Those who rank 2 can post comments on blogs, create MySpace pages, and upload videos.
* Those who rank 3 can create websites, but not blogs because their opinion doesnt matter, and not sites that are about real world information because they cannot be trusted.
* Rank 4 must be reached before one is allowed to create a blog or attempt to become an Internet Celebrity (this means you Leslie Hall, Tron Guy, and Peter Pan).
* The illustrious rank 5 is very difficult to achieve, and must be reached before one can post any real world information on the internet to prevent the spread of misinformation.
