The aim of this petition is to call for national and local government to facilitate a greenway between Thurles and Clonmel utilising the old railway line where possible and also exploring other alternative options where neccessary
Using the success of the newly opened Waterford greenway as an example, we, the Premier Greenway group are encouraging the local and national governments to look at at possibilities in terms of creating this facility for the people of Tipperary.
The benefits
This greenway would create a safe environment for adults and children to get exercise
This greenway would create a link between the two towns and provide a significant boost to tourism in the Clonmel, Thurles and Slieveardagh areas
This greenway has the potential to create jobs and prosperity
This greenway has the potential to revatalise rural Tipperary
This greenway improves bicycle and pedestrian transportation and is environmentally friendly.
