Dear David Cameron
Barack Obama declared in his speech about the death of Osama bin Laden: “We were ….united in our resolve to protect our Nation…. As a country, we will never tolerate our security being threatened, nor stand idly by when our people have been killed. We will be relentless in defense of our citizens and our friends and allies. We will be true to the values that make us who we are.”
This must be true for every democracy. It is equally true for Israel. Therefore in the spirit of Barack Obama’s words will you confirm that the British Government will:
Support Israel’s right to protect its own democracy, as you have supported America’s right to protect its democracy
Refuse to support the establishment of a Palestinian state until Hamas and Fatah unreservedly accept the right of Israel to exist, and to do so in peace
