To: Ticketmaster CEO and president John Pleasants In a recent news report on CBSNews.com, it was reported that Ticketmaster has plans to later this year begin auctioning off the best concert seats to the highest online bidders. According to the New York Times, there would be no limit on how high prices could go - it would be simply a matter of how much people were willing to pay. In my opinion, this all boils down to ticket scalping, which is illegal in some states. There seems to be some loophole in the law that will allow you and your company to get by with this. If an artist sets his/her ticket prices, who are you to say they should be sold at 10, 15, or even 20 times that price? There are some artists out there who are truly concerned that their tickets be affordable and reasonably priced, thereby allowing more fans to see their shows. If your company does go through with this plan, it will not only fail to deliver on it's promise that the biggest fans have the best seats, but it will definitely ensure that some fans won't be able to attend the show at all. We the undersigned petitioners, would like to make our voices heard and request that you abandon your current plans to rob some true fans of seeing their favorite artist in concert.

897. Lea Fordham | I love to go to concerts, and if they started auctioning the tickets off like that, then there is no way I could afford to go to shows anymore. And what do you think it would do for the economy in the long run? Make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Th

889. Amanda Pomakoy | Tickets should not be sold for way more than their face value. If people wish to do that on Ebay or else where that is fine, but Ticketmaster should not be it's own auction for tickets. This way the fans do not have to pay outrageous prices just to see

887. Jennie Fauste | The tickets to some concerts are quite expensive as it is: ie, Dixie Chicks at $65. But yet you still have a chance at getting a good seat by standing in line, calling, or going online. But with this auction idea, only people who have extra cash laying ar
