Everyone has the right to express his or her opinion by word of mouth, in writing or otherwise, under the rules and conditions laid down by law. We the undersigned feel that the recent blockage of Mahmoodвs Den [http://www.mahmood.tv] by the Ministry of Information is in violation of the freedom of opinion and speech guaranteed by the constitution.

We believe Mahmood Al Yousif did not violate any laws, or attack any values of the Islamic religion or Bahraini society. We think that his blog provides useful information and serves as a great forum for constructive discussion of local and international issues. It has grown to become one of the most important Bahraini sites, read by millions of people. Its blocking further blemishes the countryвs worldwide reputation. We demand the immediate unblocking of Mahmoodвs Den in the name of freedom of speech.
