We the undersigned students at the University of Auckland oppose an increase in domestic tuition fees for 2007. We recognise that increases in tuition fees are an outcome of underfunding within the Sector, and we call on the Labour Government to meaningfully increase central tuition funding to Universities. We call on The University of Auckland Vice Chancellor and University Council to collaborate more closely with other Sector representative organisations in promoting the impacts of underfunding on student welfare, teaching and learning quality, institutional viability and research programmes.
