We say NO to Murdoch

I, as a British citizen/resident, agree that Rupert Murdoch should relinquish all his media assets in the UK:

Due to the criminal activities of his media properties - namely the News of the World (proven) and The Sun (as yet unproven) - through which he personally has profited for many years;
the subversion of the offices of law (the police) through bribery committed on his behalf;
the coercion and subjugation of elected politicians, in order to gain profit and unfair influence at the expense of the democratic will of the British electorate;
being a foreigner, with no personal interest in the UK, and entirely unelected, he has no right to wield such unfettered power over the nation's government, legal system and media ;
the denigration of the moral character and spirit of large sections of the British community through his ownership of media, who activities range from the embarrassing, to the disgraceful, to the mendacious, to the criminal ;
and, lastly, but most poignantly, because of the disgusting way his media outlets have treated the relatives of victims of appalling crimes and our brave fallen soldiers.


For all of the above reasons, Rupert Murdoch is unfit to own or run any media outlet in the UK, and I urge the government to introduce the necessary legislation that will prevent anybody, both now and in the future, from ever gaining such control over the UK's media, political system and public life again:
