A Petition to Add Kosovo to the List of Countries in the Facebook Platform

as avid users of the Facebook platform, we are finding it increasingly difficult to call your service democratic, as Marc Zuckerberg has called it on a number of occasions, when, since Kosovo declared independence in 2008, you have not made the state of Kosovo and its cities available in the list of states Facebook members can claim as their homeland.
Over a year after the declaration of Kosovar independence and the recognition of the state as independent by the United States and most of the European Union member states, Facebook has not responded to our calls to include our homeland and hometowns in the application, despite making numerous other changes to the design, the look, and the expansive descriptive fields it has added to the platform.
By delaying the addition of Kosovo and its cities to the platform, Facebook is denying a whole people their claim to their homeland. We, the undersigned believe that this gesture is inappropriate, unjust, and unfair of Facebook. It automatically excludes the existence of millions of Kosovars who wish to belong to the Facebook webosphere.
We therefore ask Facebook to please add the country of Kosovo and its cities to the list of current countries and towns to the platform. We are Kosovars and non-Kosovars from around the world who believe that this delay of adding Kosovo to the list of countries is undemocratic and will only undermine the perception of Facebook as a democratic platform.
