Adoption fees are astronomical

Have you ever tried to adopt a child? Have you looked into it at all? If you have, you would be shocked to see the cost of adoption. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Adoption can cost anywhere from 5k to 35k. The average adoption through an agency costs 18k to 20k for domestic adoptions and continues to raise. International adoption, although a little understandable since going oversees, costs the average 20k. Many people have resorted to international adoption because they don't have the same risks that domestic adoptions have. Example: Birthparents changing their minds, the loss of fees, agency fraud, problems with agreements, the list goes on. (This is not to say international adoptions don't have risks.)


I feel the important thing is that children get loving, permanent homes. Why is it that there is always with their hands out for the green when trying to complete a family through adoption. Someone always wants a piece of the action. Children need homes, there would be more homes available if the costs where lower.

I started AdoptASAP.org to help raise funds to help fund adoptions. We are not an adoption agency, just a support group and charity. Part of my other desires is to get laws changed. I will be trying to take information and myself to legislation. I need your help.
