Alfie Evans has the right to live!

Alfred Evans, a barely two-year-old boy, urgently needs medical help. By the decision of the Court he was disconnected from the life support equipment. He was denied health care at the Liverpool hospital. He was forbidden to leave the hospital. He was forbidden to go to Rome although he is a citizen of Italy and the Infant Jesus Hospital in Rome confirmed that it would continue the medical treatment of the boy.

Doctors who do not give him a chance to heal are not credible. They described the state of Alfred Evans as vegetative but the boy lives against their diagnoses. Doctors in Italy say they can help him.

We remind you that the United Kingdom has ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) on December 16, 1991. The detention of Alfred Evans without any medical help breaks article 6, item 1 of the Convention: "States Parties recognize that every child has the inalienable right to life" and point 2 "States Parties shall ensure to the fullest possible extent the living conditions and development of the child." ; and Article 23, point 1: "States Parties recognize that a mentally or physically disabled child should be guaranteed a full normal life in conditions guaranteeing him dignity, enabling independence and facilitating active participation of the child in society."; also Article 24, point 1: "States Parties recognize the right of the child to the highest possible level of health and facilities for the treatment of illness and health rehabilitation. States Parties shall endeavor to ensure that no child is deprived of the right of access to this type of healthcare. "

We appeal to stop violating the rights of the child Alfie Evans. Stopping medical treatment at the Liverpool Hospital and preventing the resumption of the treatment at the hospital in Rome we consider as unacceptable and inhumane. Please allow the boy to go to Rome where he will receive proper medical care at the Infant Jesus Hospital.
