In light of recent statements by a Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia saying, in effect that torture for the use of information extraction is not necessarily prohibited by the Constitution of the United States of America. We, the undersigned, call on Congress for an amendment to the constitution explicitly clarifying an appropriate role for torture in both foreign and domestic locations, wherever an agent of the people of the United States might possibly have cause to use torture for any reason.

The undersigned realize that during the course of the debate about such an amendment, our representatives may decide there are appropriate uses for torture. However, we expect each case where torture is acceptable to congress to be spelled out in detail in such a way that there is no cause for interpretation by lawyers, judges, or other legal experts but that the meaning is exceptionally clear.
