Aaj TV, a thriving, private TV channel in Pakistan has a lot of good to offer. Unfortunately, it is also show-casing a programme, The Late Night Show with Begum Nawazish Ali, that goes against the very values that this society holds dear. The host continues to amuse and offend the sane, through use of extremely distasteful, raunchy and suggestive humour. It is good that the country seems to be getting closer and closer to the ideals of freedom, but even that has its limitations. And in this case, one need not use the religion card; anyone who is not dis-oriented with values and norms of decency, feels snubbed at being offered such a show.
A note to the channel and sponsors:
We will NOT watch this show, we will not encourage this effort, and if it continues, you can rest assured, we will put a cork on night-time viewing of Aaj Television. Please understand that we admire most of the content that Aaj TV promotes; this, just puts a damp on all of that.
