Double Lunches

The double lunch system will affect what could be called tradition- club meetings, class meetings, rallies and assemblies- that students can enjoy with no interference. We as a school will struggle with the new schedule, and things will be different, but not for the better. We know for a fact that Quartz Hill High School is one of the best schools in the district. We have fewer fights, higher academic achievements, and less problems than most of the schools in the Antelope Valley Union High School District. Our school is viewed as one of the best. Do you know why we are viewed as the best? It is because we are different. We are the Rebels. We do not want to change tradition.





Whether there is a double lunch schedule or not, with every change there are always clashing opinions on the matter and there is no way around that. We do not want to challenge your authority, but there are many students and teachers who oppose the double lunch. They are forming protests and petitions and it is only the first day of our informment. We believe that you should listen to the students and teachers. You should ask us what we think before you turn our school into chaos.





The last part of the issue we need to inform you of is the rallies, clubs, and all ASB activites. The rallies we have will not be able to take place during lunch or fourth period. There will be many students who have to leave class to participate in an ASB activity. Do you not want school spirit and pep rallies? With the double lunch period, many clubs will not be able to have meetings, needless to say surivive. Most of the clubs have great purposes and to ruin them would be ridiculous. On college transcripts, it leaves an area for clubs and activites. If some of these clubs are demolished, then you might be jeapordizing a child's chance for a future. Please reconsider the double lunch. Thank you.
