Worst. Author. Ever.
The purpose of this petition is to implore ESPN.com and the Page 2 editors to fire the sham of a writer that is Daily Quickie author, Dan Shanoff. His love of the Yankees, ridiculous claims, and endless stream of failed predictions should be enough to call for his ouster. However, his most egregious offense to date is his quote from the DQd section of the page that appeared on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 criticizing the Super dome for the damage it sustained during Hurricane Katrina. He said:
When browsing for a hurricane shelter for 25,000 of your closest friends, it would be nice to find one with a roof that doesn't blow off. (The Superdome!)
While Shanoff may think dead people, destroyed homes, 1.7 million people without power, and extensive flooding is worth a joke, we do not. Therefore, this most recent event combined with his consistent poor effort and perpetual Yankee loving has forced us to request his removal from ESPN.com.
We would like to end this petition with a haiku:
Shanoff mocks the dome
Next, he will kick a puppy
And kiss Giambi
