For restoration of work at 70\% completed, kurla east west light vehicular subway.

A campaign is to restor back work of 70\% completed Kurla east west light vehicular traffic subway project which is at stand still for more than a year.

This petition is created with a sole aim of uniting all Mumbaikars, Activists and NGOs on above issue.

vehicular
subway project for light motor vehicles, including
two-wheelers and passenger cars, the subway will
connect Kurla east to west, which though have been 70\%
completed (railways have completed their part of work)
but BMC has not even stated the work on either side of
the Kurla station. This subway is build with the
present latest pre-build capsule push technology, and train traffic
on busy central way line was not stopped even for a minute during
it's working hours. Railways have done excellent job and completed
70\% of their part of the job. Vehicular traffic subway or bridge was a 60 year old local demand.

After 26/7/2005, the work has never commenced though as per
newspaper reports it was said that the subway would be
open for public after that years monsoon.
Hindustan times published a
report on Tue May 23, 2006 stating that the work has stopped and will be restored back only after monsoon after reciving technical report from VJTI, Also, In between on Jun 24 2006, Indian express newspaper report said, VJTI was appointed for giving it's report on
project after 70\% of the project was already completed
(Railways completed their part of the project.), and Shri Manohar joshi ex- MP of the area had promised
that he will call a meeting with Mayor, to speed up the process and as per newspaper reports, it was accepted by Manohar Joshi
as well as BMC officials that project work which has been stopped
for last 1 year and will resume after VJTI report comes on technical
issues of the project, and this report is expect after 4 months of
monsoon, but still no
attention given by our politicians and bureaucrats to
take any strong concrete action to restore back Kurla
east west vehicular traffic subway work nor any press released is given in this respect in last one year by those in authorities for this delay. Things look non transparent.
This subway demand is there for last 60 year not only from residents of kurla
area, but also of entire mumbai, as anyone who wish to
cross over from eastern part or Navi Mumbai to western
part of mumbai or vice versa has to take a long turn
either via Sion or via Ghatkopar, also in the process
many could lose their trains leaving from Kurla
terminus or Bandra Terminus or a flight from Santacruz
or Sahar airport.
come let us join our hands together for a Joint effort to restore back work at above incomplet work.
