On Sunday, July 8th, 2007, a message of excitement was broadcasted throughout the Lamb community, a robust fan base of thousands of dedicated Mariah Carey fans. The announcement came after record producer, Mahogany, divulged on his MySpace account Blog, as well as Mariah Daily Journal, a popular Mariah Carey news website, the release of a snippet of a previously unreleased track from Mariah Careys 2005 Best-Selling album, The Emancipation of Mimi; the track was originally entitled When I Feel It, soon after disclosed as I Feel It.
The prospective statement brought cheers, jeers, and plenty of incredulous skepticism from its unearthing, as Mahogany also stated he would allow fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to download the track, as stated on Mariah Daily Journal.

Heretofore, a minuscule quantity of information had been received and disclosed on popular Mariah Carey websites regarding this track. Clamor surrounding the account of this track was, that Mahogany had sampled a song, but due to issues with Mariahs record label, they were unable to grant clearance for the release of the song. Mariah later was unable to re-record the track without the sample, so the song was not included on the album, rendering the track ineffectual and unusable.
The original notification for fans was that everyone would be able to download and listen to the track on July 13th, 2007:

After much anticipation of the release, his mind was changed and began touting a new venture to charge the first 1,000 fans $2 each to participate in this one-in-a-lifetime on-line listening party. Fans received the following e-mail from Mahogany after using PayPal, a popular fiscal transferring website to pay for their chance to hear the unreleased track:

Inevitably, the swindling and duplicity reigned with sovereignty at which point it began to escalate after technical difficulties rendered the on-line listening party a hackers delight:
I'm sorry to tell you that the Mariah I Feel It listening party is experiencing a little trouble getting online.
Unfortunately, the site we're working with has experienced repeated hacking attempts and technical support is working very hard to fix this problem as soon as possible.
As a result, the listening party will be delayed until MIDNIGHT tonight.
Don't worry, fans - it will still be online for a full 24 hours so no opportunity will be missed!
Please bear with us as the demand for this exclusive track has been beyond overwhelming. We feel it is our responsibility to prevent all of you prepaid listeners from entering a site that is not secure.
Stay tuned for your access to the listening party, NOW STARTING AT MIDNIGHT!
The agonizing attempt to appease fans dwindled into repetitious con-artist retrieval as more e-mails were sent, reassuring fans their chance would not dissipate:
Hello to all "I Feel It" hardcore M.C. Fans,
Due to technical difficulties the site was unable to launch. but the good news is you can all enjoy the record that you all have been waiting for...along with the original sample of "Sprung" which comes on right after "I feel It" after "Sprung" then follows another record I produced for Dr.Dre and the sample in which it came from. I know you all would like to hear the original sample from where "I Feel It" comes from....But I have to keep a secret or two for myself...
Thank you all so much for the love and support. once the site is up you all will be notified.

Almost 48 hours have passed since the purported initial release of the track, and since then many complaints have been sent to Mr. Mahogany with vehement defamation on his behalf. His responsiveness has been vilely reprehensible. His excuses are malignant, and his attempt to accuse people of ambivalently sabotaging his attempt to cash in on hard-working people is lackadaisical and inexcusable.
It is known for a fact that the track was sent to many popular Mariah Carey websites, such as Mariah Daily Journal and Mariah Connection. Full-fledged lyrics were displayed on Mariah Daily Journal, leading many to believe that this was the straw about to break a dishonest camels back. His endeavor to refute the validity of others is not in our hands, but in his blood-drenched hands of deception.
Many fans are outraged at the fact that they were deceived surreptitiously. Why werent they given a valid explanation as to why they were excluded so cunningly? Fans demand a written apology, a refund, and feel discouraged in the pursuit of such trickery. As fans, we believe that Mariah, herself, had no part in such malevolence. But, we demand that something be done about this before Mr. Mahogany scams another living soul.
Below are just a couple of angry comments left by fans on a popular fan website:
- I really hope no one else pays. Isnt it funny that he didnt mention paying at the start of the week when all this began?! What a con!
- $2 isn't much but it's still a complete scam! Haven't heard anything since he cashed in my money, hmmm
This ordeal was uncalled for on many levels, and we hope that our message can be put across strongly, hopefully, preventing any future attempts at depleting the confidence and trustworthiness of fans. The damage has been done. We hope youre happy, Mahogany.
Regrettably,
The Fans
