Make Some Noise

This petition to request that the Lindens, The Board of Directors, The Second Life Management Team, Guy Linden, and anyone and everyone else who can help, improve the following situation(s).

The financial loss inflicted upon any and all residents who have lost land due to landbots snatching land out from under them, due to their own human error, a glitch in the system, or just lack of knowledge about landbots being able to take their property before they can blink. The actual dollar amount that has been accrued is now into the $100,000.00 range. Land loss has been going on for a very long time. The issue has been raised many times in the past, but, as of this writing it has not been addressed except to be told "All Sales Final" or "Sorry, we are working on that".

The people who have suffered the losses and the emotional stress that they undergo trying to receive some sort of assistance in a minimal time period because we all know that once that property has resold it is too late to do anything except cry. Businesses have been lost and destroyed, financial losses have escalated. My partners and I have not only lost my land, but the businesses on it to a landbot. At every avenue that I tried to get assistance I was told the same thing "All Sales Final, sorry".

We need to be able to have some kind of recourse for financial losses aquired from unscrupulous people. There can be and, when tallied, there has been a huge financial loss encurred by many. Maybe, a 12-24 hour hold that can be released early by the seller if they agree to the sale immediately, if not the hold to resale stays on so that if there is a dispute it can go before an appeals court (not so far fetched considering we have an SLPD already). Then the sale (or non sale) of the property can be heard. This would not only work with land sales but with many, many other disputes as well. Just an idea.

This petition is to let the people who can make a change know that we are very angry at the way the people who take our property, be it land or anything else, are protected by there being no where for the victims to seek help. The people who take property via landbots and knowing there has been an error, who refuse to return the property do not have the morals or the ethics to care about what damages it causes its victims. They also know there will be no retribution. To also let the people who can make a change, know we want some protection for our real USD, from landbots and their owners. As of right now we have none. We are not allowed a human error or a glitch in the system. We are solely dependant on someone elses human nature. 98\% of the time that takes care of itself. That 2\% can cause great financial and emotional damage and has.

The majority of us who play this game are not here to make money, but to have fun and have a "Second Life", buy a piece of virtual property to put our virtual homes on. We play with our virtual animals or ride them around our virtual corrals. We have virtual art shows, virtual clothing stores, and have virtual jobs. We spend virtual money for all the virtual things we aquire and that costs us real USD.
