NAMB

First and foremost, we understand that the National Association of Mortgage Brokers exists as a lobby group. However, with the recent happenings in the mortgage industry it is our opinion that mortgage brokers have come under continuous attack by the media and individuals who have ulterior motives while the National Association of Mortgage Brokers sits idly by.

As the National Association of Mortgage Brokers is the largest organization to voice the concerns of mortgage brokers and loan officers employed by mortgage brokers in the country we are asking that your organization do something to promote the positive image and services of mortgage brokers.

The National Association of Realtors routinely airs public service announcements promoting the services and expertise of their membership base both on the radio and television. The same cannot be said for NAMB. At a time where our industry is in crisis and mortgage brokers are continuously bashed in the media for being the cause of the crisis we feel that we have no outlet or organization that will defend us. We are looking to the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, as the largest organization of mortgage brokers in the country, to step in and promote the services of mortgage brokers.

Although I am the creator of this petition I am not a member of NAMB or my state association. I am aware the NAMB is attempting to increase their member base but how does NAMB proposed to reach their membership numbers as most mortgage brokers feel that joining NAMB is nothing more than money out the window? It is clear that NAMB needs to do things differently in the future.

As a signer of this document, I fully support the idea that as a representative body, NAMB, needs to step up with a full scale national PR campaign to assist in building the reputation of its members. More than any legislative help, this is necessary for many loan officers and brokers to stay in good standing with their associates, referral sources, clients and future clients. Should the National Association of Mortgage Brokers create a feasible plan that will benefit the members of the association I will join my state association and NAMB and fully support NAMB in their efforts to promote and support the mortgage brokerage industry.
