NCAA pay for play

We the undersigned hereby petition the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and it's participating universities to allow for student-athletes to receive extra financial benefits from their respective schools. College sports produce more revenue for universities then any other programs, and the student-athletes are directly responsible for this. Unlike regular students, student-athletes do not have the time to juggle school, athletics, and work (and until recently were not even allowed to work), and therefore often have trouble finding the time to earn income. Furthermore, the NCAA has strict rules which prevent student-athletes from exploring otherwise legal alternatives to working for income and/or receiving financial aid. The NCAA needs to allow for extra financial aid for student athletes.
