In the United Kingdom and around the world skate parks/plazas are getting a make over. Governments/local Councils are working with skaters to make suitable parks for people of all levels to skate in and to hang out with friends. It's not Enfield time to work with the skaters and be kind enough to help with this project and join other councils and build a truly amazing skate plaza.
As many of you know that despite being a part of London Enfield can be a boring place at times for people aged 14 21+, there arent many activities for local people to get involved with which doesnt cost anything. The council built a skate park around 3-4 years ago and its in a very sorry state, even from day one. Sure it had its moments but with a design which seems to meet the standards of bmx riders rather than skateboarders causes a lot of problems amongst other problems like being situated in the middle of nowhere, bad area and crime, very poor constructions and surfacing.
Enfield Town is getting a whole make over with a new shopping centre added to the already busy Enfield. So why not use the disused old pool in Enfield Town Park. It has been used by skaters for nearly 10 years and its more than likely it will not be used or turned into something pointless and old available for 1 month of the year.
We need all people from Enfield and surrounding boroughs to support this cause. Even if you don't skate but you think a skate plaza is a good idea we need your support!
