Parodius is a series of games developed and published by Konami meant as a parody of Konami's own Gradius and Salamander series. The series originated on the Japanese MSX Computer and received several sequels in the Arcades, Famicom, PC Engine, Super Famicom, Sega Saturn, and Sony Playstation. Five games in this series were released for the Playstation, exclusively in Japan (All combined, every single Parodius game is on the Playstation 1 and Sega Saturn): Konami Antiques MSX Collection Volume 3, the third in a collection series containing the first Parodius game, (It would be in order to release all 3 MSX Collection games on the PSN) Gokujō Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack, a collection of the Arcade games Parodius Da! (It's Parodius) and Gokujō Parodius, (Ultimate Parodius) Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius, a port of the Super Famicom Parodius game, Sexy Parodius, a standalone port of the Arcade game of the same name, and Paro Wars, a turn based strategy game developed exclusively for the Playstation. Now, why does this all matter? Because these games are amazing. Not only has not one ever seen an American release, (The only non-Japanese release was Parodius Da! which was only made available in Europe) but these are some of the best shooters, let alone best games of all time. For too long have they not seen the light of day in America, and not even in Japan have they been released to the PSN. Recently in America a PSOne Imports section has been released, and already it has received crazy japanese shooters like Cho Aniki, so why not Parodius? It's the perfect opportunity. Many Konami games have already been available on both the Japanese and American Playstation Networks, so it would only seem natural. The only problem I can see is the fact that the games contain much sexual content. (Particularly Sexy Parodius, my favorite in the series) Sexy Parodius even has mild nudity, so if censorship didn't take place, (Which it better not) an M rating might be necessary, but how many kids would get these games anyway? Please sign this petition if you are a Japanese shmup fan like me so Americans can finally appreciate this amazing series without having to mod their Playstations to play imports. I encourage everyone to send letters to Konami, their address is 2381 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 200 El Segundo, CA 90245 USA. Thank you.
